meet the teacher

Welcome back to school for the 2019/ 2020 school year! I am really looking forward to being your child's teacher this year and anticipate a great year. A little about me... I received my B.A. in Education at Biola University and have begun the Master of Arts in Teaching. I've decided to focus on the practice of teaching and invest in my own classroom and continue the program at a later time. This is my fifth year teaching in the Capistrano Unified School District and 2nd year at George White Elementary. I can confidently say that GWES has welcomed me with kindness and support. Before teaching, I worked for the school district as a support staff and as a leader at after-school programs for many years.  On a personal note, I reside in San Juan Capistrano. I enjoy spending time with my family, boyfriend, and friends. I have 5 nieces and nephews altogether and love being their 'Addy'. In my spare time, I like to read realistic fiction and informative books, watch a good series or movie with my boyfriend, take my dog for walks, explore nature, and work on different projects. Learning, investing in younger generations, and teaching are a great passion of mine and I am grateful to have this opportunity!

teaching philosophy

  • Develop students’ potential by planning lessons utilizing the Common Core State Standards and that include strategies that meet the needs of all students.
  • Assist students in developing good work habits and organizational skills through modeling, application, accountability, and positive feedback.
  • Encourage students to have a 'Growth Mindset', viewing problems as opportunities to learn, to take risks, to persist despite obstacles and to believe that they can learn anything if they put in the effort.
  • Provide a safe, positive classroom environment where students will enjoy learning and collaborating with their peers.
